Business Development Executive – Shanghai, China

We are looking for a passionate Business Development Executive to join our new Business Development team based in Shanghai. This position will focus on sales to the Chinese market.

We are looking for a hardworking, results driven and confident team member with a strong sales background to join our Business Development team in China. Having an excellent phone and personal manner is a necessity. A clear understanding of Chinese business practice is also key. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work well under pressure, problem solve, and be confident communicating with team members and management. There will be an opportunity as the role progresses to travel at home and abroad.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Identifying new business and generating sales of VV products. Managing all aspects of the Sales process from liaising with the marketing and PR team on fully trackable campaigns, finding new prospects and negotiating new deals and partnerships. The candidate would be expected to have previous experience of sales, preferably B2B. Attending industry events and generating leads through networking.

Key skills required:

  • Team player
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken business English and Mandarin
  • Knowledge/experience of the maritime sector is desirable but not essential
  • Confident at cold calling
  • Proven track record of sales to shipping industry in China
  • Strong communication skills (listening, questioning, written, verbal) and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work both independently and in collaboration with multiple teams
  • Previous experience with Salesforce (preferable)
  • Willingness to travel
