Property Data Analyst – Isle of Wight

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Property Data Analyst to lay the foundations of our new Property Research team based in Isle of Wight.

VesselsValue is a leading and innovative tech company operating in the Maritime and Aviation sectors. We are at the very early stages of moving into the UK Residential property sector. We employ over 160 people across our 7 offices in the Isle of Wight, London, Stoke, Singapore, Korea (Republic of), China and The Philippines.


We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated and confident team member with a strong academic background and excellent analytic, research and communication skills. This is an opportunity for you to start laying the foundations of an exciting, brand new sector that VesselsValue is entering. You will be the first into our Property Research team situated in the Ryde, Isle of Wight office, benefiting from all the support and knowledge gained from our existing research teams. You do not have to have previous property experience, but you do need to have a real enthusiasm for data and databases. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work well under time pressure and be able to drive projects forward. A key aspect of this role will be the accurate, detailed, online researching, sorting, and validating of targeted information connected to the UK Residential property market.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

Extensive and online research focusing on all the sources of UK property data, including both open source and paid for options. You will liaise closely with our technical department in Stoke for the building of the back-end databases where this information will be stored and accessed. Ultimately, this data will feed the engine model that will produce the online front end that we will sell to subscribers. Your job will include initiating the sourcing and collection of this data, analysis of it and eventually the ongoing maintenance of it. This will include defining new data collection and analysis processes. You will be identifying patterns and trends in the data sets. You will need to be comfortable in discussing this data, not only internally, but with the many varied external sources used to obtain the data and ultimately with the clients themselves.

You will have the opportunity to liaise with the other Research teams in the company, to share experiences and knowledge gained from our other asset types. Post covid, you can have access to a vibrant and innovative office environment.

Key skills required

  • 1st class degree ideally in Mathematics, Computer science, Statistics or Economics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel (more advanced the better) eg the ability to work confidently with Vlookups, Pivot tables and IF functions
  • Experience in data models and reporting packages
  • Ability to analyse large data sets
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is critical
  • Able to work both independently and in collaboration with multiple teams
  • Love of data, how to find it, how to interpret it and the creation and maintenance of databases
  • Good at communicating both in office, inter offices and externally
  • Energetic, enquiring, inquisitive mind at ease with problem solving and the complexities conflicting data can present
